Central Essex Bowling Club is looking to recruit new members. We are situated in King George’s Playing Fields, Ingrave Road, Brentwood. CM13 2AQ. We have two lovely greens in beautiful surroundings. There is social bowling on most weekday afternoons during the season, which runs from May to early October. For those who want it, there is more competitive bowling in a local leagues. We have an excellent Clubhouse with light catering facilities and a bar.

Facilities

There are two greens at King George’s (that is TWELVE rinks), maintained to a high standard by Brentwood Council.

There is a spacious pavilion with a bar and a generous kitchen area, ladies’ changing rooms and gent’s toilets. The pavilion veranda has undercover outdoor seating, and there are various benches around the greens. A spacious gents’ changing area is provided in a separate building.

Activities

We participate in a men’s league on Friday afternoons, we play friendly matches both at weekends and midweek and also have club days during the week. We run a range of internal competitions and have organised two ‘Away Days’  to play clubs further afield (Hythe and Thanet, Kent for 2019). We are ‘going on Tour’ in September for eight days at and around Weymouth

There are social events throughout the year, especially out of season, including weekly bridge, whist and art group meetings and monthly coffee mornings.
